Johnny Concert is boldly, unabashedly rock n’ roll. From its gothic logo to shade names like Blood Moon, Smash Stereo and Delightmare, it transports me back to the days of shopping for bondage pants and creepers at Trash and Vaudeville. Still, it would be a huge mistake to think that this is a brand for disaffected teens and aging rockers: Johnny Concert is as chic as it is metal and I am consistently blown away by the elegance and performance of its formulas. The Maudit liquid lipsticks do not budge, but don’t dry out the lips and feel feather-light. The eyeshadows are pigmented and long lasting, with shades that are both exciting and wearable. This is rock chic at its sophisticated, grown up best.
